Clothes guys wish women would toss out

Even though these pants may draw attention to your backside, men can't stand them.

A well-edited closet is something I aspire to have. I try. But then I think -- what if the clothes I toss come back in fashion someday, as things always do? (How glad am I that I saved my yellow-stitched Doc Martins?) Here’s an interesting way to get rid of at least some of your stuff. How about looking at your closet from your guy’s point of view. Suddenly, those pants that a girlfriend with dubious intentions said looked fantastic or a great pair of heels that require two boxes of band-aids might not seem as necessary. We asked Women’s Health contributor Matt Bean to be our know-it-all guy expert.

At the suggestion of Women’s Health contributor Matt Bean, who is playing the role of the guy in our life, here are a few things we can all feel good about getting rid of:

'American Idol' no longer No. 1 show on TV

The fading favorite succumbs to a billion-dollar juggernaut's primetime ratings challenge.

Is "American Idol" no longer the cultural titan it once was? The numbers are in for last night's season finale. Not even the notoriously kind Judge J.Lo would have been impressed.

For the first time in a long time, “Idol” won’t finish as the top-rated program in primetime. According to preliminary numbers, NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” will go down as this season’s top-ranked program. The NFL game of the week averaged around 20.7 million viewers, while "Idol's" Wednesday edition averaged 19.7 million viewers this season. With big NFL ratings come big numbers for the league. Last December, according to The Hollywood Reporter, “the NFL pre-emptively renewed TV rights deals with CBS, Fox, and NBC for nine years (through 2022) at an average increase of 7 percent per network that will take revenue for the NFL from $1.93 billion annually to $3.1 billion by 2022.”

Pitt: No wedding date set

Actor wants one more thing to happen before marrying.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's engagement could be a long one! A month after the actor slipped a custom-designed diamond ring on his lady love's finger, he says they aren't rushing to the altar.

"We actually really, truly have no date," Pitt, who is promoting his new gangster flick "Killing Them Softly," said at a press conference at the Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday. And they're not abandoning their previous position that they would like same-sex marriage to be legalized before they take the plunge. "We're still hoping that we can figure out marriage equality in the states before that date."

Poll: Romney now leads in crucial state

Mitt Romney has taken a 6-point lead over President Barack Obama in the battleground state of Florida.

A new Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday found Romney now besting Obama 47 percent to 41 percent among likely Florida voters. That's a shift from earlier this month, when a Quinnipiac poll found Romney and Obama statistically tied in the state. In March, Obama led Romney 49 to 42 percent in the Sunshine State.
